Further to the

Administrative Review Tribunal Bill 2000
, the bill: abolishes the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), Social Security Appeals Tribunal, Migration Review Tribunal and Refugee Review Tribunal; repeals the
Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975
; amends: 182 Acts to replace references to the AAT with references to the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART); 138 Acts to replace references to the
Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975
with references to the proposed
Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2000
; 5 Acts to provide procedures to be followed by the ART in reviewing certain decisions;
Federal Court of Australia Act 1976
to enable certain interlocutory and procedural matters to be dealt with by a single judge; and makes consequential amendments to 125 Acts. Also contains application and transitional provisions.
